Spring/Summer 2010: Celebrating Wedding Photography – Issue 28
It seems that weddings and photography are a marriage made in heaven. A camera has been present at almost every wedding since photography was invented. A wedding is a key marker in life, and photography validates and underscores the importance of the occasion. Wedding photography has usually been relegated to performing the utilitarian task of documenting the event. Just as clothes and hairstyles change with the times, the style and approach to how weddings are documented also changes. Technology has a bearing but so do society and the individuals involved. Today a new digital generation is entering the wedding photography scene and pushing the boundaries of expression and creativity.
Wedding photography is blossoming with excitement. The talents showcased in this issue are some of the best in Canada and have garnered an international reputation. Welcome to wedding photography of the twenty-first century.
Buildings and spaces are integral to our existence. The fall issue’s theme is architecture photography. This will include exteriors, interiors, lighting, and design. Explore the space around you with your camera, and send in your favourite images.
